AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE TAX LEVY FOR THE YEAR 1940
FOR THE MUNICIPAL CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA.
Section 1. Be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of South
Bend, Indiana:
That there be and hereby is levied the following amounts for the year
1940 on each One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) of assessed valuation of
property in the City of South Bend, Indiana, as fixed by the officers
of St. Joseph County and the State of Indiana, for the objects named:

Poll Tax
of Fifty Cents

every male inhabitant of said City,

not a pauper, of
the age
of Twenty -one years and not over the
age of

Section 3. This Ordinance shall be
in full
force and effect
from and
after its passage and approval by the Mayor.
