AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF FORTY', THOUSAND DOLLMRS
(#, o.00) FROM THE FUNDS TO BE RECEIVED FROM THE AUDITOR
OF ST. JOSEPH COUNTY UNDER ORDER OF THE PORTAGE TOWNSHIP
TRUSTEE FOR FUNDS TO BE SUPPLIED TO ASSIST THE MUNICI*
PAL CITY OF SOUTH BEND IN THE SPONSORING OF PROJECTS
PURSUANT TO AN AGSM MENT FILES? WITR THIS BODY RN*

WORKS AND SAFETY AND THE PORTAGE TOWNSHIP
TRUSTEE AND TO BE A FUND KNOWN AS THE
SPECIAL W. P. A• FUND.
SECTION I - That the sum of Forty Thousand Dollars ($40,000900) be
and the same is hereby appropriated from a special fund to be cre-
ated and known as the Special Worlds Progress Administration Fund
of the Municipal City of South Bend for the purchase of materials,
equipment, truck hire and other supplies necessary to provide ad-
ditional funds for the sponsor's share of Work's Progress Adminis-
tration Projects,
SECTION II - It is expressly stipulated and agreed in this ordinance
that the funds for this appropriation are subject to and limited to
the amount provided by monies received by the City Controller of the
City of Sooh Bend from the Auditor of St. Joseph County by'virtue
of funds paid for the employment of men taken from the relief rolls
of Portage Townsg -ip, St. Joseph County, Indiana, which funds are to
be provided on order of the Portage Township Trustee directed to the
Auditor of St, Joseph County in conformity with a written agreement
entered Into by and between the Trustee of Portage Township and the
Board of Public Works and Safety of the Municipal City of South Bend
under date of May 18, 1938, and approved by the Common Council of
the City of South Bend under like date of May 18, 1938, and it is
expressly agreed and stipulated that this amount set forth in this
ordinance is the estimated amount to be received during a period of
four (4) months from the date of the introduction of this ordinance
and the purchase of materials, equipment, truck hire and other
supplies necessary to furnish the sponsorts share of said project
in coatemplat -14m of the terms of said agreement shall be IA line
with the amount of money so received by the Controller of the City
of South Bend from the Auditor of St, Joseph County in secordanee
it*th the terms of the agreement referred to above,
SECTION ]Ell + This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage, approval of the Mayor, legal publica-
tion and approval by the State Tax Board.
