PURSUANT TO AN AGREEMENT FILED WITH TI: IS BODY ENTERED

SAFETY AND THE PORTAGE TOWNSHIP TRUSTEE AND TO BE
A FUND KNOWN AS THE SPECIAL W. P. A. FUND
SECTION 1. That the sum of Twenty Thousand Dollars
($20,000.00) be and the same is hereby appropriated from a
a special fund to be created and known as the Special Work's
Progress Administration Fund of the Ifunicipal. City of South
Bend for the purchase of materials, equipment and other supplies
necessary to provide additional funds for the sponsor's share
of Work's Progress Administration Projects.
SECTION 2. It is expressly stipulated and agreed in
this ordinance that the funds for this appropriation are subject
to and limited to the amount provided by monies received by the
City Controller of the City of South Bend from the Auditor of
St. Joseph County by virtue of funds paid for the employment of
men taken from the relief rolls of Portage Township, St. Joseph
County, Indiana, which funds are to be provided on order of the
Portage Township Trustee directed to the Auditor of St. Joseph
County in conformity with a written agreement entered into by
and between the Trustee of Portage Township and the Board of
Public Works and Safety of the Municipal City of South Bend under
date of Yay 18, 1938, and approved by the Common Council of the -
City of South Bend under like date of Bray 18, 1938, and it is
expressly agreed and stipulated that this amount set forth in
this ordinance is the estimated amount to be received during a
(3) months from the date of the introduction of this ordinance
and the purchase of materials, equipment and other supplies nec-
essary to furnish the sponsor's share of said project in contem-
plation of the terms of said agreement shall be in line with the
amount of money so received by the Oontrller of the City of South
Bend from the Auditor of St. Joseph County in accordance with the
terms of the agreement referred to above.
SECTION 3. It is specifically stipulated that the Controll-
er shall provide the Council with a monthly statement of expen-
ditures and commitments made from all funds for W. P. A. projects
according to projects.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and ef-
fect from and after its passage, approval of the Mayor, legal
publication and approval by the State Tax Board.
