WHEREAS, the City of South Bend, through its Board of
Public Works and Safety, is required to repair Mishawaka Avenue
and Eddy Street after the removal of the street car rails from
the said streets; and
WHEREAS, it has been impossible to procure a W.P.A.
project for the purpose of doing said repair work and it becomes
necessary to perform this work with Street Department labor; and
WHEREAS, the funds in the Street Department budget for
the purpose of paying for the services of employees for performing
said work have been exha usted; and.
in
WHEREAS, the City has received /refunds from the State of
Indiana for its portion of the gasoline tax during the year 1939
Thirty -six hundred ninety five and 54/100 (.x¢3695.54) Dollars more
than had been appropriated for the use of the Street Department
and said funds are available in the General Fund for said work:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council
of the City of South Bend, Indiana:
Section 1. That the sum of Thirty -six hundred ninety -
five and 54/100 ($3695.54) Dolls, rs be appropriated from the General
Fund of the City of South Bend to the Street Department account
for personal services, also known as Budgetary Item I -1.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its enactment and approval by the Alayor.
