Mayor RESOLUTION NO. 2120 -94 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, COMMENDING CORPORAL THOMAS LESZCZ, CAPTAIN BRUCE MICHALOS, CAPTAIN JAMES GADACZ, AND FIREFIGHTER TOM ADAMI FOR THEIR HEROIC PUBLIC SAFETY ACTIONS. 'DUiitr00, the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, recognizes that members of the South Bend Police Department and Fire Department are dedicated to providing quality pubic service for all of our City residents; and Vbtrtas, often, there are times when members of both of these departments perform heroic actions in performing their daily public safety duties; and 9Utltrta g, on April 2, 1994, there was a house fire at 734 Elmer Street, where a City resident was trapped in her home; and V btrtas, three (3) members of the South Bend Fire Department placed their own lives in danger when they successfully rescued this individual from her burning residence, and a member of the South Bend Police Department immediately performed CPR on her. The Common Council of the City South Bend, Indiana, hereby publicly commends, on behalf of all the residents of the City, the following individuals for their heroic public safety efforts performed on April 2, 1994: Corporal Thomas Leszcz of the South Bend Police Department Captain Bruce Michalos of the South Bend Fire Department Captain James Gadacz of the South Bend Fire Department Firefighter Tom Adami of the South Bend Fire Department. §gtti0n II. The South Bend Common Council commends each of these individuals and the departments for which they work for the professional services which they provide on a daily basis to our community, for which we are truly grateful. g:ittti0n III.
