The Community Investment Committee was called to order by Chair Gavin Ferlic to give consideration to
a request for real property tax abatement by Ameriplex Partners.
Sarah Heintzelman from Cl staff made the presentation. Manette Tepe from Holladay Corporation was
present to answer any questions. Holladay is the overall developer of Portage Prairie where Ameriplex
is locating. Sara said the estimated construction costs of the development were $5.6 million. She said
the petition itself asked for up to a 7 year abatement. More specific development would be
forthcoming before the second stage or confirming resolution was asked to be voted upon. This
declaratory resolution was needed so that building permits could be issued.
Only a few questions followed the presentation. Valerie Schey asked how large Portage Prairie was and
whether it would be allowed an off ramp from the by -pass. Manette said the overall size was 400 acres
and the possibility of a ramp was still under review.
On a motion by Valerie, seconded by citizen member Bob Emery and voted without dissent the bill
received a favorable recommendation.
The Community Investment Committee adjourned at 3:35 p.m.
