An ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract for the
performance of certain repairs upon the West abutment of the Sample
Street bridge between the City of South Bend., Indiana.. and the
C. A. Jordan Company.
BEND:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
SECTION 19 The Common Council of the City of South Bend hereby
approves and authorizes the execution of a contract between said City
and C. A. Jordan Company* Said contract to provide for the following
enumerated repairs to the West abutment of the Sample Street bridge
to -wit:
To shore the West end of the bridge holding
it securely and remove the entire abutment to the present
river level; install three weep holes through the abut-
ment with a gravel drain bed; relay the stone using
only the sound undamaged stone; replace the top stone
course with a reinforced concrete pad; extend the
present storm sewer drains to the face of the abutment..
and replace sidewalk, pavement and railings that are
required to be removed for the execution of this work,
SECTION 2* The aforesaid contract shall require the City of
South Bend to pay to the C. A. Jordan Company an amount not in excess
of Four Thousand Seven Hundred Eighty- Five($tv785) dollars*
SECTION 3• This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage by the Common Council and its approval
by the Mayor*
