AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING THE AMOUNT OF THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS
(03,000.00) FROM THE GENERAL FUND OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND TO
THE ACCOUNT KNOV T AS ACCOUNT # H -35, EMERGENCY COAL ACCOUNT OF
THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
AND APPROPRIATING SAID SUM FOR THE PURCHASE OF COAL FOR THE USE
AND BENEFIT OF' THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND.
VYHE_nEAS the budget of the City of South Bend for the
year 1942 allowed for the purchase of coal sufficient only to
fulfill the needs of the city to and including December 31, 1942,
and
WHEREAS the Federal Government has advised the storage
of all coal needs for the entire winter of 1942 -43, and
WHEREAS the City of South Bend does not have sufficient
fronds appropriated for the purchase of said additional coal,
Now, therefore, be it ordained by the Common Council
Of the City of South Bend, Indiana that:
1. The amount of three thousand dollars ($3,000.00)
be, and the same is, hereby transferred from the General Fund
of the City of South Bend to the account of said city know as
Account #H -350 Emergency Coal Account of the Board of Public
Yiorks and Safety.
2. The said three thousand dollars (t3,000.00) be,
and the same is, hereby appropriated for use in the purchase
of coal for the City of South Bend, Indiana.
3. An emergency exists for the transfer and appropriation
of said sum for the purposes herein set forth.
4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage by the Common Council, its legal
Publication, its approval by the Mayor and by the State Board of
Tax Commissioners.
