AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING NEW YORK CENTRAL RAILROAD COMPANY
TO INSTALL AND MAINTAIN THE LATEST IMPROVED AUTOMATIC
FLASHLIGHT SIGNALS AND•AUTOMATIC SHORTARM GATES AT
OLIVE AND MEAIE STREETS CROSSINGS WITH ITS RIGHT -OF -WAY
IN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1•
That the New York Central Railroad Company be, and it
is hereby, ordered and required to install, within a period of
six (6) months from the date of the taking effect of this ordi-
nance, and maintain thereafter, the latest improved automatic
flashlight signals and automatic shortarm gates at Olive and
Meade Streets Crossings with its main line tracks 'in the City of
South Bend, Indiana.
Section 2:
That any person, firm., company or corporation violating
any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be fined for each
and every offense not less than Ten ($10.00) Dollars nor more th
One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars; and each day's violation shall be
considered a separate and distinct offense and shall be punished
accordingly.
Section 3•
That Ordinances Numbered 1467 and 1495 of the municipal
ordinances of the. City of South Bend, Indiana, and all other or-
dinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith, are hereby
repealed.
Section 4•
This ordinance shall be in effect from and after its
passage by the Common Council, its approval by the Mayor and
its legal publication.
