ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF X201000.00 FROM
THE FUNDS OF THE WATER WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA, TO THE GENERAL FUND OF SAID CITY
WHEREAS, the City Water Works of the City of South
Bend is free from the obligation of paying taxes for the
support of the municipal government of said City and
VVHERFAS, the amount of said taxes, if they were to be
paid, would be approximately $20,000.00 and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and members of the Board of the
City Water Works Trustees have recommended that a transfer
of funds from the Water Works be made.
Now, therefore, be it ordained by the Common Council
of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that:
(1) The transfer of $20,000.00 from the funds of the
City Water Works of the City of South Bend to
the general fund of the City of South Bend,
Indiana is hereby authorized and approved.
(2) The proper officers of the said City Water Works
are hereby directed to take all necessary steps
to transfer said funds properly as soon as reason-
ably possible.
(3) The Common Council specifically finds that this
transfer is an emergency matter.
(4) This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage by the Common Council
