A Resolution of the Common Council of the City of South Bend Commending and Congratulating
RONALD G. MARCINIAK
for his more than Seven (')Years of Dedicated and Conscientious Service as the Chief of Police of the
South Bend Police Denanment
'Ofl UT190S, the Common Council acknowledges that Ronald G. Marciniak has
proudly and conscientious served as the Chief of Police of the South Bend Police
Department for more than seven (7) years; and
'O he,VU.0, the Common Council also acknowledges that during his tenure as
Chief of Police of the South Bend Police Department that Chief Marciniak worked with a
dedicated and committed administrative staff of Assistant Chiefs consisting of: Larry E.
Bennett, Uniform Division Chief; Joel H. Wolvos, Services Division Chief; and Donald
A. Ruszkowski, Investigative Division Chief; and
U trt4g, the Common Council notes that Chief Marciniak was appointed to the
South Bend Police Department on July 16, 1970 as a patrol officer and has diligently
served in every Police Department rank since his initial appointment;
'D btrt", the Common Council notes that under Chief Marciniak's leadership the
South Bend Police Department has advanced in many areas including the enlargement of
the department in personnel and the offering of more services than ever some of which
include: the Services Division, the Detective Bureau, Arson Bureau, enlargement of the
Juvenile Aid Bureau, the institution of the Neighborhood Enforcement Service Team
(N.E.S.T), Metro S.O.S., Records Division, Training Bureau, the Traffic Bureau,
Safetyville, and Crime Prevention/Neighborhood Watch; as well as successfully
implementing the first labor- management Working Agreement and effectively working with
a Labor- Management Committee for the betterment of the Police Department.

OUtiOtt I. On behalf of all of the citizens of the City of South Bend, Indiana,
the Common Council hereby publicly commends and congratulates RONALD G.
MARCINIAK, CHIEF OF POLICE OF THE SOUTH BEND POLICE
DEPARTMENT for his more than seven (7) years of dedicated public service in that
very important leadership position.
gttti= II. During Chief Marciniak's tenure as Chief of Police, he established a
cornerstone for integrity and dedication to public safety so that all of the residents of the
City of South Bend would have a safer and healthier environment in which to live.

THANKS RONALD G. MARCINIAK, CHIEF OF POLICE OF THE SOUTH
BEND POLICE DEPARTMENT and his dedicated Administrative Staff consisting of
Larry E. Bennett, Uniform Division Chief, Joel H. Wolvos, Services Division Chief; and
Donald A. Ruszkowski, Investigative Division Chief for all of their service and dedication
which has contributed to making the South Bend Police Department one of the finest police
departments in our country and doing it "our way ".
