A Resolution of the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana,
Honoring the Riley High School Hockey Team for Winning the 1996 State
Championship for the State of Indiana.
'B btrtas, the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, proudly recognizes
that the Hockey Team of Riley High School won its first State Hockey Championship on Sunday,
March 3, 1996; and
UbtrV10, the "Never- Say -Die" Riley Wildcats fought back from a 3 -goal first -period
deficit to beat Ft. Wayne Northrop by a 5 to 4 final score in the finals of the Class AA State
Hockey Championship at the Carmel Stadium; and
'D btrtgg, the Riley Wildcats Hockey Team beat Bloomington on Saturday by a score of 4
to 3, having previously beaten Ft. Wayne North Side 3 to 0 in their opening game; and
VWUIO, the South Bend Common Council would like to CONGRATULATE all of
the Riley High School Wildcat Hockey Team players and coaches namely:

citizens of the City, hereby publicly commend and congratulate the Riley High School
Wildcats Hockey Team for winning the Class AA State Hockey Championship for 1996.
SIPWOtt H. The South Bend Common Council congratulates all of the individual team
members, their coaches, teachers, administrators, fellow students, parents, George McCullough,
Principal; and John Berta, Athletic Director for providing quality leadership both on and off the ice.

Riley Wildcats Hockey Team to repeat this endeavor in 1997!
