The Board of Public Safety met in the Public Agenda Session at 8:05 a.m. on Wednesday,
November 12, 2008 with Board Members Juanita Dempsey, Patrick D. Cottrell, Bruce J.
BonDurant, and Jack Reed present. Board President Donald Alford was absent. Also present
were Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar, Police Chief Darryl Boykins, and Fire Chief Howard
Buchanon.
The meeting was held in the Board of Public Works Meeting Room, 13th Floor, County City
Building, South Bend, Indiana.
ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA
Mr. Bodnar informed the Board of the addition of a resignation, and a request for back pay from
Officer Wayne oocher, both for the Police Department
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Board, President Alford declared the meeting
adjourned at 8:30 a.m.

The Board of Public Safety met in the regular meeting at 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Noveniber
12) 2008, with Board Members Juanita Dempsey, Bruce J. BonDurant,, Patrick D. CottrelL and
Jack Reed present. Board President Donald Alford was absent. Also present were Police Chief
Warryl Boykins, Fire Chief Howard Buchanon and Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar.
The meeting was held in the Board of Public Works Meeting Room, 13th Floor, County City
Building, South Bend, Indiana.
ACCEPT MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS
Ms. Dempsey stated if there were no objections or corrections, the minutes of the October 22,
2008 Board of Safety meeting would be accepted.
ELECTION OF BOARD PRE SIDENT
Ms. Dempsey requested a motion to nominate a President for the Board of Safety, for 2009. M.
Pat Cottrell made a motion that Ms. Juanita Dempsey be elected President of the Board of Rubli
Safety for the year 2009, Mr. Bruce BonDurant seconded the motion, which carried.
REGULAR MEETING
FILING OF MONTHLY STATISTICAL ANALYSIS REPORT — OCTOBER 2008
Ms. Dempsey stated that unless there were questions or objections by members of the Board, the
statistical report for the month of October, 2008 as submitted by the South Bend Polic,*
Department, would be accepted for filing. There being no objections, the following report was

Ms..Dempsey advised that the Board is in receipt of a letter of resignation from Corporal Jerem
Gadsby in which he tenders his resignation from the South Bend Police Department, effecti'J"

November 7. 2008. Chief Boykins stated in his letter, that Corporal Gadsby was sworn in t
South Bend Police Department on August 3 ), 2005). Upon a motion made by Mr. Cottrel
seconded by Mr. BonDurant and carried, the resignation was accepted and approved. I
