VIERZAS, the Board of Public "]orks and Safety has sold ten (10)
used automobiles of the Police Department, and
"Vi 3REAS, said Board has purchased ten (10) new automobiles for the
use of such Department, and
'iIR A,, such sale and purchase was accomplished by selling the
used automobiles under authority of the Co,nmon Council of the City of South
Bend to the highest bidder for cash rather than by the usual ni-ans of a trade-
in for new vehicles, since it was believed that such direct sale would be
advantageous to the City of South Bend, and
?MREAS, the motor equipment fund of the Police Departnent is now
short of necessary and required funds.
NO .. ", TFIEF;hFORZ, be it ordained by the Co,,unon Council of the City of
South Bend, Indiana, that:
1. The amount of < >7,158.00 be, and the same is hereby, transferred
from the general fund of the City of ,South Pend, Indiana, to Budgetary Item No.
P724, motor equipment, in the budget of the Police Department of the City of
South Bend for the year 1945.
2. The said smn so transferred be, and the same is hereby appropriated
for the uses and purposes of said budgetary item P724.
3. That because of the shortage of money in budgetary Account Ho. P724
caused by the use of a direct sale method rather than a trade -in method, an
emergency now exists, since the funds obtained from the sales of the used cars
were paid directly to the general fund of toe city.
4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage by the Common Council and the fulfillinent of all statutory -reauire-
rents re adting to such emargency appropriation.
