AN ORDINANCE REDUCING THE FOLLOWING ITEMS IN
THE 1949 SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, DNNICIPAL CIVIL
CITY BUDGET: SEWER DEPARTMENT ACCOUNT No. J -252,
REPAIRS OF SEWER REPLACEMENT $5 000.00 ACCOUNT'
No. J -724, MOTOR EQUIPMENT $2 560.00 1CCOUSIT No.
J -726, OTHER EQUIPMENT $750.06; AND IPPROPRIATING':
THE SUM OF $81250.00 FROM TIE GENERAL FUND OF TIE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, TO THE FOLLOWING
1949 BUDGET ITEMS: STREET DEPARTMENT, ACCOUNT'
No. S. -451, PARTS OF EQUIPMENT 63 250.00; AND TO
DOG POUND ACCOUNT No. K -726, OT9R EQUIPMENT AND
STRUCTURES $ 5 000.00; ALSO TRANSFERRING THE SUM
OF $79500.00 FROM ACCOUNT No. S -43, STREET AND
ALLEY, STREET DEPARTMENT TO ACCOUNT No. S. -331,
GASOLINE, STREET DEPARTMENT, AND ALSO TRANSFERRING
THE SUM OF $22500.00 FROM ACCOUNT No. S -724 MOTOR.
EQUIPM9ENT, AND THE SUM OF $750.00 FROM ACCOUNT No.
S -7261 OTHER EQUIPMENT, STREET DEPARTMENT TO ACCOUNT
No. S -451, PARTS OF EQUIPMENT, STREET DEPARTMENT,
AND DECLARING AN EXTRAORDINARY EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend,
Indiana:
Section 1. That the following items in the 1949 City of
South Bend, Indiana budget of the Sewer Department be, and the
same are hereby reduced in the amounts indicated, to -wit:
Account No. J -252 Repair of Sewer Reba a,cement $5 57000.00

Account No. J -726

Section 2. That the sum of $3 250.00 be, and the same is
hereby appropriated from the General Fund of the City of South
Bend, Indiana, to, and is appropriated for the uses and purposes.
of the following budgetary item in the budget of the Street Dep-
artment of the City of South Bend, Indiana, for the year 1949,
to -wit:
Account No. S -451 Parts of Equipment $ 31250.00
Section 3. That the sum of u5,000.00 be, and the same here-
by is appropriated from the General Fund of the City of South
Bend, Indiana, to, and is appropriated for the uses and purposes .
of the following budgetary item in the budget of Dog Pound of the
City of South Bend, Indiana, for the year 1949, to -wit:
Account No. K -726 Other Equipment and Structures 8 59000.00
Section 4. That the following sums be, and the same hereby
are transferred,namely: $7,500.00 from Account No. S -43, Street
and Alley, $2 500.00 from Account No. S -724, Motor Equipment, and
$750.00 from Iccount No. S -726, Other Equipment, all in the Stree
Department, to and are appropriated for the uses and purposes of
the following budgetary items in the budget of the Street Depart-
ment of the City of South Bend, Indiana, for the year 1949, to-
wit:

Account No. S -451

Parts of Equipment

Section 5. That the sums of money, enumerated in Sections
2, 3, and 4 of this Ordinance, are required for the proper and
efficient operation and function of the aforementioned Depart-
ments of the Government of the City of South Bend, Indiana, and
an extraordinary emergency is declared to exist concerning the
foregoing appropriations and transfers.
Section 6. That this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage by the Common Council, its -
approval by the Mayor, and the fulfillment of all Statutory re-
quirements relating to extraordinary emergency appropriations,
