WHEREAS, it is necessary for the South Bend Water
Works Trustees to cause to be installed two (2) wells and
two (2) pumps at the Oliver Pumping Station and the North Pump-
ing Station, South Bend, Indiana; and
WHEREAS, the lowest bid received for the sale and
installation of said wells and pumps is from the Layne - Northern
Company, and is in the amount of Twenty -eight Thousand Six
Hundred and Sixty ($282660.00) Dollars;
Nowt THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA.
Section 1:
The Trustees of the South Bend Water Works are here-
by authorized to enter into a contract with the Layne- Northern
Company for the purchase from and the installation by the
Layne- Northern Company of two (2)`-wells and two (2) pumps at the
Oliver Pumping Station and the North Pumping Station, South Bend,
Indiana, for the consideration of Twenty -eight Thousand Sig
Hundred and Sixty ($282660.00) Dollars. The said Trustees are
further authorized to take any and all necessary steps to procure
the performance of said contract after it is executed by the
said Trustees.
Section 2=
This ordinance shall.be in full force and effect
from and after its enactment and approval by the Mayor.
