HomeMy WebLinkAboutAppropriating from the General Street & Traffic Fund of the City of South bend 1948 BudgetORDINANCE No. 364o Passed by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, MAY 24TH, 14 -A9_ Presented by me to the Mayor of the City of South Bend, Approved and signed by MAY Clerk of Common Council 7 U/ Clerk ORDINANCE N0. 3 �0 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING FROM THE GENERAL STREET AND TRAFFIC J FUND OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, THE FOLLOWING AMOUNTS TO THE INDICATED ACCOUNTS OF THE 1948 BUDGETS STREET DEPARTm VENT, S..22 WAGES, $34#535.10; STREET DEPARTMENT, S-360 OFFICE SUPPLIES, 1250.00; STREET DEPARTMENT, S-SB# GENERAL SUPPLIES# $10000.00; STREET DEPARTMENT, 3.+3310 GASOLINE AND OIL# $3,500.00; STREET DEPARTMENT, 5 -333, TIRES AND TUBES, $10000.00; STREET DEPARTMENT, 5-3340 OTHER GARAGE AND MOTOR SUPPLIES# $500.00; STREET DEPARTMENT, 5-4510 PARTS AND EQUIPMENT, $2 #000.00; AND DECLARING AN EXTRAORDINARY EMERGENCY. WHEREAS# the budgetary accounts for the Street Department of the City of South Bend, Indiana, in the budget for the calendar year of 1946, were insufficient to provide for the necessary labor, materials, equipment and supplies with which to carry on the work of the Street Department efficiently, and WHEREAS, the said budget for the calendar year of 1946 provided for fewer operators than there were pieces of equipment available for daily use and operation by the Street Department# and WHEREAS# it is the desire of the Street Department to utilise every available piece of equipment which it owns in order to improve our streets and render more extensive and efficient service to the citizens of this .00mmunity to the and that the streets of the City of South Bend shall be maintained in a good state of repairs clear of debris and free from snow and ice insofar as manpower and equipment will allow said tasks to be accomplikhed# and WHEREAS, the Street Department has made a careful survey of its existing equipment, manpower, supplies and materials and finds that in order to carry on its work efficiently it will require additional appropriations for the year 1948= now, therefore BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that s Section 1.
