Committee Members Present: Oliver Davis, Valerie Schey (EAB), Henry Davis, Derek Dieter Other Council Present: Tim Scott, Dr. Fred Ferlic (EAB), Dr. David Varner, Karen White, Gavin Ferlic Others Present: Kara Boyles, Jack Smith, Kathy Cekanski- Farrand, Erin Blasko, Larry Magliozzi, Matthew Chappuies, Angela Smith Agenda: Presentation from Area Plan Commission — Larry Magliozzi, on 2015 Work Plan Committee Chairman Oliver Davis opened the meeting with a quorum present to consider two items on the agenda. The first was a presentation from Larry Magliozzi, the recently appointed Director of the Area Plan Commission (APC) of St Joseph County. Larry supplemented his presentation with a memorandum for the Council outlining the 2015 work plan of the APC. He reminded everyone that the APC is responsible for the entire ST. Joseph County, six political jurisdictions in all. He went on to describe his goal of providing quicker responses to both governmental units as well as developers. To that end, he has formed a project advisory team which meets on the 1n and 31 Thursday of each month to help stay on top of things. Larry spoke to proposed PUD text changes as well as technical subdivision revisions. In essence he said it had been over a decade since there was a comprehensive review of zoning standards county -wide. He described a desire to simplify zoning terminology and process to make zoning more understandable and user friendly for everyone. He pledged regular progress updates for the Council while encouraging their input. This led to questions from both Karen White and David Varner about the relevance of "City Plan." Larry said the City Plan was a vision or guidepost of what we would like the City to be in the future. David Varner and Henry Davis had additional questions about adherence of decisions to an overall comprehensive plan. Larry pledged`ongoingpommunication as the overall review evolves.
