Approved and signed by me June 29 _ 19 99 Clerk Mayor RESOLUTION NO. 2-1 5b— 1 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SUBMIT TO THE STATE OF INDIANA, DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE, APPLICATION FOR COMMUNITY PLANNING FUND GRANT. WHEREAS, the City of South Bend, Indiana, recognizes the need to improve, protect and preserve both its commercial corridors and nodes and the adjacent neighborhoods through community -based planning and research; and WHEREAS, the City of South Bend, Indiana, wishes to obtain a Community Planning Fund Grant from the Indiana Department of Commerce as authorized by the State of Indiana under I.C. 4 -4 -15 as a reimbursement after project costs are paid by the City of South Bend, Indiana, for the Keller Park Neighborhood Strategic Plan as part of the Portage Avenue Corridor Initiative; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana as follows: SECTION I. That the Mayor of the City of South Bend, Indiana, is hereby authorized to submit, to the Department of Commerce, the 1999 Community Planning Fund Grant application in the amount of $10,000; and to take all other necessary actions to secure these funds. SECTION II. That the City of South Bend has committed the requisite local funds in the amount of at least $10,000 from the Good Neighbors /Good Neighborhoods fund as matching funds for said project, that such funds are available contingent upon receipt of funding from the Indiana Department of Commerce. SECTION III. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor. �Q ccl t .
