HomeMy WebLinkAboutCreating Special Police Auxiliary School Patrol, Appropriating Money Transferring Money from the General Fund to Police DepartmentORDINANCE No. 3616 Passed by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, M, v City Clerk Presented by me to the Mayor of the City of South Bend, SEPTEMBER 9th zq� 47 of Common Council Approved and signed by me SEPTEMBER 9th 193 47 7 Clerk ORDINANCE NO. 341L AN ORDINANCE CREATING SPECIAL POLICE AUXIL- WHEREAS, the hazards of increasing vehicular traffic upon the streets of South Bend endanger the safety of school children at and near the public and parochial schools of South Bend, and WHEREAS, it is necessary in the protection of the safety of school children that vehicular traffic at and near the public and parochial schools of South Bend be more adequately controlled, NOW THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that; 1.. A special police auxiliary school patrol of thirty -two (32) persons be and it hereby is created and authorized, the members thereof to be appointed as now pro- vided by law. 2. The salary of such said special police auxil- iary school patrol shall be at the rate of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) per person per month. 3. The following monies are hereby transferred from the General Fund of the City of South Bend, Indiana, and are appropriated to the uses and purposes of the following budgetary items in the budget of the City of South Bend, Indiana, for the year 1947, to -wit; To P -11, Salaries and Wages, Police Department, 634,800.00; to
