A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
BEND, INDIANA, COMMENDING JAMES ARANO`VSKI
FOR HIS DEDICATED YEARS OF SERVICE AS THE
FIRST DISTRICT COUNCIL MEMBER
WW 'Ws, the South Bend Common Council is proud to honor James Aranowski, who
succeeded Stephen J. Luecke in representing the residents and business owners of the lst
Councilmanic District; and
W*'eas, the Common Council recognizes that as the Chairperson of the Personnel and
Finance Committee, Council Member Aranowski has chaired a countless number of committee
meetings where he provided keen insights when reviewing the proposed civil city budgets and
appropriation ordinances over the years; and
Wliereas, the Council would also like to recognize Council Member Aranowski's
leadership in having served as the Council's Vice- President and also his service as a member of
the City Negotiating Teams where he provided valuable direction and leadership; and
lftreas, Council Member Aranowski sponsored timely and needed legislation this year
which implemented new public safety regulations for large eating and drinking establishments
which operate in downtown South Bend, which will continue to foster safe environments for
those wishing to patronize such facilities, as the downtown area continues to flourish and
attract many residents and visitors to its many attractions; and
96"WO, Council Member Aranowski currently serves on the Parks, Recreation,
Cultural Arts and Entertainment Committee; the Information and Technology Committee; the
Public Works and Property Vacation Committee; and the Utilities Committee, in addition to
being the Chairperson of the Personnel and Finance Committee and in each of these capacities
he provides useful data in proudly representing the interests of the residents and businesses in
the Ist District of South Bend, Indiana.

Section I. On behalf of all of the citizens of South Bend, Indiana, the Common Council
hereby publicly honors the 1ST DISTRICT COUNCIL MEMBER JAMES ARANOWSKI for his
dedicated years of service to the City of South Bend and especially the residents and business
owners of the 1st District.
Section II. The Common Council cOmmendS 1ST DISTRICT COUNCIL MEMBER JAMES
ARANOWSKI for his many contributions to our community; and wishes him continued
success with his brother, David, in providing professional accounting services.
Section III. The Council wishes "Jimmer" and his bride, Robin, many great years ahead as
they cheer on the Chicago Cubs and the Fighting Irish, and the Council further wishes them
many rounds of golf on courses both here and abroad.
Section IV. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption by
the Common Council and approval by the Mayor.
