BILL NO. 64-08 -EMERGENCY SERVICE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND
This bill appropriates $73,380 from fund #288. The money is part of a federal grant to the SBFD
from the Homeland Security Department. The grant will allow a computer based firefighter
training program. All eleven fire stations would be provided with both hardware and software for
the training program.
Karen White called upon Assistant Chief Mark Nowicki to make the presentation. Councilmember
Puzzello asked if each station would receive a computer for training.
Answer: Yes
Tim Rouse asked if efforts were aggressively made to seek grant dollars.
Answer: Yes
On a motion by Councilmember Puzzello, seconded by Citizen Member Donald Brubaker, the bill
was sent to the full Council favorably.
There being no further business to come before the committee, Chairperson White, adjourned the
meeting at 3:38 p.m.
