City Clerk m RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, CONGRATULATING THE GIRLS EAST SIDE LITTLE LEAGUE TEAM WHO ARE THE 2004 JUNIOR LEAGUE WORLD CHAMPIONS ��1w eaa, the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, is proud to acknowledge that a group of thirteen (13) and fourteen (14) year old girls from the East Side Little League girls softball team experienced a once in a lifetime opportunity this summer; a eaa, the Council acknowledges that on August 21, 2004, the East Side Little League girls softball team beat Lee County of Giddings, Texas at a game in Kirkland, Washington, and wrapped up a perfect Junior League World Series Championship; and lv"w,w, the East Side Little League girls softball team went 22 -0 through all levels of tournament play this summer and outscored its rivals 43 -4 at the World Series level which included representative teams from the United States, Europe, Canada, Asia and Latin America; and CW& c , the Common Council proudly acknowledges all of the members of this World Champion Team, namely: Alex Dunfee, Catcher Angela Gillis, Pitcher /Shortstop Maria Gillis, Pitcher /Outfield Nikki Gropp, 3`d Base Alexa Jack, I't Base Erin Jankowski, 2 "d Base Sam McCarty, 2 "d Base Kelsey Reynolds, Shortstop/Pitcher Maggie Seitz, Outfield Katie Sullivan, Outfield Jaimee Works, Outfield Meghan Yoder, Outfield Pete Gillis, Manager Jeff Jankowski, Coach Brent Yoder, Coach Jim Reynolds, Scorekeeper Mary Dunfee, Scorekeeper c�/vauq C�/�� 4 iCxe�, by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows: Section I. On behalf of all of the citizens of the City of South Bend, Indiana, the Common Council hereby publicly commends and congratulates the 2004 World Champion East Side Little League Junior Girls Softball team for bringing honor to themselves and to the City of South Bend. Section Il. The Common Council proudly acknowledges that the 2004 World Champion East Side Little League Junior Girls Softball team outscored their opponents 251 runs to 16 runs in 22 games; and wishes each of the team members continued success and memorable opportunities.
