HomeMy WebLinkAboutCommending 2004 South Bend Police Department Swat Members for Winning 2004 Swat Skills CompetitionAttest: RESOLUTION 3399 -04 Passed by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana November 22, 04 20_ Presented by me to the Mayor of the City of South Bend, Indiana November 23, 20 04 Approved and signed by me November 23, City Clerk President of Common Council 04 20-- City Clerk RESOLUTION 33\1 — O q A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, COMMENDING THE 2004 SOUTH BEND POLICE DEPARTMENT SWAT MEMBERS FOR WINNING THE 2004 SWAT SKILLS COMPETITION 'fie4ea6, the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, notes that on September 23, 2004, eleven (11) teams representing the Elkhart Police Department, the South Bend Police Department, the St. Joseph County Sheriffs Department, the Indiana State Police, the Elkhart County SWAT Division and the Goshen Police Department met in Elkhart to participate in a SWAT Skills Competition; and 091&w,am, the SWAT Skills Competition included: agility course testing; endurance, strength and balance; handgun skills with shooting taking place from seven yards; long gun skills with shooting taking place from 142 yards, sub -gun skills; precision marksman skills; room clearing, and working in a chemical environment with masks; and firnraa, the average time of all teams was 32:02, with the South Bend Police Department SWAT Team having the winning time of 25:22; and i1X&,,ww, the Common Council is proud to recognize each member of the South Bend Police Department SWAT Team, namely: Sergeant Douglas Bagarus Sergeant Robert Culp Lieutenant Scott Hanley Corporal Christopher Houser Corporal Jason Katowich Corporal Timothy Lancaster Lieutenant Marc Mersich Corporal Bryan Miller Sergeant Scott Ruszkowski Lieutenant Keith Schweizer Corporal Scott Sevems Corporal Daniel Skibins Sergeant Stephan Smith Sergeant Steven Spadafora Sergeant Frank Steiger Lieutenant Jeffery Walters Sergeant William Wells 94o"&, C%exg6" / ttxeuo %d, by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows: Section I. On behalf of all of the citizens of the City of South Bend, Indiana, the Common Council hereby publicly commends and congratulates all of the members of the 2004 South Bend Police Department SWAT Team for winning this year's SWAT Skills Competition which was held in Elkhart, Indiana. Section II. The Common Council acknowledges the South Bend Police Department SWAT Team's hard -work, discipline, dedication, and skills which have brought the highest of honors to themselves and to their family and friends; and is a meritorious accomplishment for the South Bend Police Department and all of the residents of the City of South Bend, Indiana.
