RESOLUTION NO. 3131 -OS
A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA,
PUBLICLY COMMENDING THE 2004 -2005 H7 SOUTH BEND WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM
FOR WINNING THE CHICAGOLAND COLLEGIATE ATHLETIC CONFERENCE (CCAC) AND
COMMENDING COACH MARY L. WISNIEWSKI FOR BEING SELECTED AS THE
CCAC COACH OF THE YEAR FOR THE 6TH TIME IN THE LAST TEN YEARS
Wkwea , the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, is proud to recognize that
the 2004 -2005 HJ SOUTH BEND WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM, the "Lady Titans" won the
Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Women's Basketball Tournament Championship
on Saturday, March 5, 2005, when they beat St. Xavier University by a score of 70 -65; and
Wk4w,aa, the Council notes that the 2004 -2005 LADY TITANS had their first 20 -win season
with a record of 23 -10 thus clinching their 5th Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference
Championship and earning their first trip to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics
(NAIA) in Jackson, Tennessee as a No. 8 seed; and courageously battled the No. 2 seed, the Houston
Baptists on March 16, 2005 where they played with a lot of heart and conviction; and

and coaches of the 2004 -2005 IU SOUTH BEND WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM, the Lady

as follows:
Section I. On behalf of all of the citizens of the City of South Bend, Indiana, the Common
Council hereby congratulates Head Coach Mary L. Wisniewski, Assistant Coach Debra J. Martin, and
each and every member of the 2004 -2005 IU SOUTH BEND WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM,
the Lady Titans, for winning their 5n' Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship.
Section II. The South Bend Common Council believes that the hard -work, discipline, and
dedication, both on the basketball court and in the class room of each member of the 2004 -2005 Lady
Titans Basketball Team has enabled each team member to be an excellent role model for the youth in
our community; and each team member has brought the highest of honors to herself, her family and
friends, IU South Bend, and all of the residents of the City of South Bend, Indiana.
Section III . This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption by the
