A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, PUBLICLY COMMENDING SOUTH BEND CITY CONTROLLER FREDERICK B. OLLETT, HI FOR HIS DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND. INDIANA ilanirnau, the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, recognizes that on the 31" day of October, 2001, Mayor Stephen J. Luecke appointed Frederick "Rick" B. 011ett, III to be the City Controller of South Bend, Indiana; and /'!'/,eww , the Council recognizes that the Administration and Finance Department, under Mr. 011ett's leadership, again received in January of 2004, the "Certificate of Achievement in Financial Reporting" award which is issued by the Governmental Finance Officers Association (GFOA) and is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting; and M1wxeaa, Mr. 011ett has been an instrumental leader in advancing Mayor Luecke's theme of "We're Building South Bend ", by developing budgets which have been fiscally sound and dedicated to building strong neighborhoods, building a safe city, building an attractive city, building opportunity and building a strong economy as he meticulously oversees a 2005 operating budget for the general fund, special revenue funds, internal service funds, capital/debt service funds, trust/agency funds, and enterprise funds totally $155,346,244. UVow, & W reao/iried, by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows: Section I. On behalf of all of the citizens of the City of South Bend, Indiana, the Common Council hereby publicly thanks and commends City Controller Frederick B. 011ett, III for his dedicated public service in overseeing the City of South Bend's finances since October 31, 2001 & for providing excellent financial input to the Common Council and especially to the Council's Personnel and Finance Committee for the past several years, while maintaining the City's AA bond rating from Standard & Poor's. Section II. The South Bend Common Council sincerely wishes Rick 011et, his wife, Ellen, and their entire family continued success as they embark on new and exciting adventures at Culver Academies in the years ahead.
