HomeMy WebLinkAboutProclaiming that the 3rd Weekend in July be Dedicated as Spirit Animal Nation Weekend at Potawatomi ParkAttes RESOLUTION 4392 -14 Passed by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana October 13, 14 20 . ��.�+�+„•..�. vy .nc av uua mcyVi VI u1C idly VT JVual CSeno, maiana October 14, 20 14 City Clerk dent of Common Council Approved and signed by me 0 a-OL t v 20 City Clerk � - Aj Resolution No. A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA PROCLAIMING THAT THE 3RD WEEKEND IN JULY BE DEDICATED AS SPIRIT ANIMAL NATION WEEKEND AT POTAWATOMI PARK 764W4, the animal tree carvings have brought PRIDE to Potawatomi Park, and ?More", the carvings have turned dead oak stumps into Magical Spirit Animals for all generations, especially for our children to enjoy, ?6t4 w", Victor Riley and Rod "Trailblazer" Goodchild have teamed up to fund /carve these magical Animals at NO COST to the South Bend taxpayers, and Mew", the very first carving was approved in October, 2013 and since then 8 dead trees have been set aside for carving and 6 have already have been carved. The first being the "Eagle has Landed" in front of the Ella Morris Greenhouse. The second one "Six Spirit Animals" 'Big Rod' and 'The Eagle Nest' in the Northeast sector of the Potawatomi Park. ?WvwA4, Families have already been inspired by the carvings in the park and many Pictures have been taken standing next to the Spirit Animals, empowering our youth to dream big and succeed. ?Aw, dfe4ne, be it proclaimed by the South Bend Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana as follows: Section I. That the 3rd weekend in July be dedicated as Spirit Animal Nation Weekend at Potawatomi Park. Section II. This Resolution shall be in full force and the Council and approval by the Mayor.
