The South Bend City Council will be appointing qualified individuals who wish to volunteer their time and

Commission. Some of the duties and responsibilities of the Animal Control Commission include receiving and
reviewing recommendations from the Shelter Manager; recommending policies and standards for the control

Mayor; and hearing appeals. Applicants must be residents of the City of South Bend, have an interest and
knowledge of animal care and control, would serve without compensation, and would serve at the pleasure of
the Council. One of the three appointments by the Council is required to be a licensed veterinarian. Governing
regulations may be found in Sections 5-95 through 5-97 of the South Bend Municipal Code.
