X9351 Presented by me to the Mayor of the City of South Bend, JAWARY 4Tg- 195 Clerk of Common Council Approved and signed by Clerk J ORDINANCE NO.� AN ORDINANCE REDUCING CERTAIN ITEMS IN THE 1951 SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, CIVIL CITY BUDGET; AND APPROPRIATING FROM THE GENERAL FUND OF SAID CITY THE SUPT OF TWENTY -ONE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED TWENTY -THREE AND 901100 ($21,523.90) DOLLARS; AND ALSO APPROPRIATING FROM THE GENERAL. STREET AND TRAFFIC FUND OF SAID CITY THE SUM OF ELEVEN THOUSAND ($110000.00) DOLLARS, ALL TO CERTAIN OTHER BUDGETARY ITEMS OF THE 1951 BUDGET OF-THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AND DECLARING AN E)T2RAORDINARY EMERGENCY. WHEREAS by Ordinance No. 3769, adopted by the Common Council on July 24, 1950, which said Ordinance was subsequently approved by the State Board of Tax Commissioners by Order No. 685, dated August 4, 1950, a Clerk in the Building Department was provided for and an appropriation to pay for the services for the balance of the year 1950 was made, which said Clerk was thereafter duly appointed and performed the services required, and is now continuing to perform such services; and Y=REAS, through an over -sight the salary for said Clerk or the year 1951 was overlooked and not included in the 1951 udget; yet the services of said Clerk are needed for the proper peration and efficient functioning of said Department;, and IMREAS, the salaries of the four (4) nurses 'in the oard of Health as provided for in the 1951 budget are considerabl; elow compensation paid for like and similar services; and in othe: ocal units of government; therefore E IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, ndiana•. Section 1. That the following items in the 1951 budget .the Civil City of South Bend, Indiana, in the Departments dicated in this Section, be, and the same '_Hereby are, reduced the amounCherein below stated, to -wit: ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT: V -11, Services Personal $13,145.00 STREET DEPAR^1IV1ENT: S -726, Other Equipment $11,000.00 Section 2. That the sum of Twenty -One Thousand Five Undred Twenty Three and 90/100 ($21,523.90 Dollars, be, and the ame is hereby,.appropriated from..the General ..Fund of the Civil ity of South Bend, Indiana, to, and is appropriated for the uses nd purposes of the following budgetary items in the amounts and o the Office, Departments and Board set forth below, in this ection, in the budget for the year 1951, to -wit: OFFICE OF CONTROLLER: B -54,' Civil Defense $ 5,000.00 BUILDING DEPARTMENT: M -I10 Services Personal $ 2,040.00 FIRE DEPARTMETdT: Q -11, Services Personal BOARD OF HEALTH: 4 -11, Services Personal ,,13,145.00 1,338.90 Section 3. That the sum of Eleven Thousand pil,000.00) Dollars be, and the sane hereby is appropriated from the General Street and Traffic Fund of the Civil City of South Bend, Indiana,' to, and is appropriated for the uses and purposes of the following budgetary item to the Department and in the amount set forth below, in this Section, in the budget for the year 1951, to -wit: STREET DEPARTMENT: S -226, Rental of Equipment *11,000.00 Section 4. That the sums of monies, enumerated in Sections 2 and 3 of this Ordinance, are required and necessary for the proper and efficient operation and function of the aforementioned Departments of the Government of the Civil City of South Bend, Indiana, and an extraordinary emergency is hereby declared to exist concerning the foregoing appropriations. Section 5. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common Council, its approval by the Mayor, and the fulfillment of all statutory requirements relating to extraordinary emergency appropriations.
