AN ORDINANCE REDUCING CERTAIN ITEMS IN THE
1950 SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, MUNICIPAL CIVIL
CITY BUDGET; AND APPROPRIATING FROM THE
GENERAL FUND OF SAID CITY THE SUM OF EIGHT
THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED 08,600.00) DOLLARS;
AND ALSO APPROPRIATING FROM THE GENERAL
STREET AND ^1RAFFIC FUND OF SAID CITY THE
SUM OF SIX THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED TEN (156,110.00)
DOLLARS, ALL TO CERTAIN OTHER BUDGETARY ITEMS
OF THE 1950 BUDGET OF THE MUNICIPAL CIVIL
CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AND DECLARING AN
EXTRAORDINARY EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend,
Indiana:
Section 1. That the following items in the 1950 budget of
the Municipal Civil City of South Bend, Indiana, in the Offices
and Departments indicated in this Section, be, and the same
hereby are, reduced in the amounts herein below stated, to -wit:
SEWER DEPARTMENT:
J -262, Repairs to Sewer Replacements
635,000.00
BUILDING DEPARTMENT:
M -216, Travel Expense

FIRE DEPARTMENT:
0 -110 Personal Services
$2,000.00
ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT:

STREET DEPARTMENT:
S -724, Motor Equipment

Section 2. That the sum of Eioht Thousand Sir. Hundred
($2,600.00) Dollars be, and the same is hereby, appropriated from
the General Fund of the Municipal Civil City of South Bend, Indiana,
to, and is appropriated for the uses and purposes of the following
budgetary items in the amounts and to the Offices and Departments
set forth below, in this Section in the budget for the year 1950,
to -wit:

Section 3. That the sum of Six Thousand One Hundred Ten
(:6,110.00) Dollars be, and the same hereby is, appropriated
from the General Street and Traffic Fund of the Municipal. Civil
City of South Bend, Indiana,.to, and is appropriated for the
uses and purposes of.the following budgetary items to the
Department and in the amounts set forth below, in this Section,
in the budget for the year 1950, to -wit:
STREET DEPARTMENT:
5 -43, Materials, Street and Alley 515,000.00
S -214, Telegraph and Telephone 110.00
S -321, Coal and Fuel Oil '51,000.00
Section 4. That the sum of monies, enumerated in Sections
2 and 3 of this Ordinance, are required and necessary for the
proper and efficient operation and function of the aforementioned
Offices and Departments of the Government of the Municipal Civil
City of South Bend, Indiana, and an extraordinary emergency is
hereby declared to exist concerning the foregoing appropriations.
Section 5. That this Ordinance shall be in full force, and
effect from and after its passage by the Common Council, its
approval by the Mayor, and the fulfillment of all statutory
requirements relating to extraordinary emergency appropriations.
