HomeMy WebLinkAboutReducing Certain Items in the 1952 Budget & Appropriating from the General Fund to the Police Dept. & from the Street and Traffic General FundORDINANCE No. 3871 Passed by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, MAY 26TH, �9 §2 Presented by me to the Mayor of the City of South Bend, MAY 27TH �9f2 Clerk of Common Council Approved and signed by me �raY 7TH, �9f2 4W7 Clerk ORDINANCE NO. fff 71 AN ORDINANCE REDUCING CERTAIN ITEMS IN THE 1952 BUDGET OF TO CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND INDIANA AND APPROPRIATING FROM THE GENERAL FUND OF SAID CITY TO THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND FROM THE STREET AND TRAFFIC GENERAL FUND OF SAID CITY TO THE STREET DEPARTMENT UNDER THE 1952 BUDGET AND DECLARING AN EXTRAORDINARY EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana; Section 1. That the following item in the 1952 budget for the Police Department of the Civil City of South Bend, Indiana be, and the same hereby is, reduced in the following amount: POLICE DEPARTMENT; Services - Personal P -11 Reduction in salary of Patrolmen - - - - - - - - - - $2,146,48 Section 2. That the sum of $2,146.48 be, and the same is, hereby appro- priated from the general fund of the Civil City of South Bend,Indiana to, and is appropriated for, the following use and purpose in the 1952 budget: POLICE DEPARTMENT, Services - Personal P -11 Salary - 2 clerks for 3 months vacation period - - - $1,138.00 Salary - police woman for 3 months - - - - - - - - - 1,008.48 Section 3. That the sum of $25,000.00 be, and the same is, hereby appro- priated from the Street and Traffic General Fund of the Civil City of South Bend to, and is appropriated for, the following use and purpose in the 1952 budget: STREET DEPARTMENT: Materials, Streets and alleys - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - $25,000.00 Section $. That the sums of monies enumerated in Sections 2 and 3 of this Ordinance are required and necessary for the proper and efficient operation and function of the aforementioned departments of the Civil City of South Bend, Indiana and an extraordinary emergency is hereby declared to exist concernifig said appropriations. e Section 6. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption by the Common Council of the Civil City of South Bend, Indiana, its approval by the Mayor and the fulfillment of all statutory require- ments relating to extraordinary emergency appropriations.
