AN ORDINANCE REDUCING CERTAIN ITEMS IN THE 1952
BUDGET FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF THE CIVIL
CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA IN TIN AGGREGATE AMOUNT
OF $17,906.00 and APPROPRIATING FROM THE GENERAL
FUND OF SAID CITY TO THE 1952 BUDGET FOR THE POLICE
DEPARTMENT OF SAID CITY IN THE AGGREGATE AMOUNT
OF $17,898.00 AND DECLARING AN EXTRAORDINARY EMERG yCY
BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend,Indiana:
Section 1. That the following items in the 1952 budget for the
Police Department of the Civil City of South Bend, Indiana be, and the
same hereby are, reduced in the amounts herein below stated, to -wit:
POLICE DEPARTMENT:
Services - Personal
P -11 Salary of Assistant Chief - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - $5,100.0
Salary of Captain (1 @ $4738) - - - - - - - - - - - - - 4,738.0
Salary of Patrolmen (2 8 $4034) - - - - - - - - - _ - 8,068.0
Total Reduction - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - $17,906.
Section 2. That the sum of $17,898.00 be, and the same is, hereby
appropriated from the general fund of the Civil City of South Bend, Indiana
to, and is appropriated for, the uses and purposes of the following budgetary
items in the amounts and to the offices and departments set forth below in
this Section in the budget for the year 1952, to -wit:

P -11 Salary of Detective Sergeant (1 Cab $4338) - - - - - - $4,338.00
Salary of Lieutenants (2 @ $4520) - - - - - - - - - __9,040,00

Section 3. That the sum of monies enumerated in Section 2 of this
dinance is required and necessary for the proper and efficient operation
d function of the aforementioned Department of the Civil City of South
ad,Indiana and an extraordinary emerZoncy is hereby declared to exist
ncerning the foregoing appropriation.
Section 4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
after its passage by the Common Council, its approval by the Mayor, and
fulfillment of all statutory requirements relative to extraordinary emerges
opriations.
