AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $40,000 FROM THE GENERAL
FUND TO SANITATION DEPARTMENT AND $3300.00 FROM THE
STREET AND TRAFFIC FUND TO STREET DEPARTM3NT S -251
REPAIRS OF BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES, DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY, ALL OF THE BUDGET FOR 1953 OF THE CIVIL
CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the Civil City of South Bend, Indiana:
SECTION I. The sum of $40,000 is hereby appropriated from the General Fund
of the Civil City of South Bend, Indiana, for the operation of the Sanitation
Department, for the period from October 1, 1953 to January 11 1954 as follows:
XX -11 Salary of Foreman $ 11500.00
Salary of Heavy Equipment Operator 11603.00
Salary of Eight Drivers at $}975.00 each 70800.00
Salary of Eighteen Laborers at $780.00 each $p14jO40.00
XX -26 Payments to Dependable Disposal Co., Inc.
3 payments at $p41812.50 $14,437.50
XX-33 Gas and Oil $ 619.50
Total x`40,000.00
SECTION II. The sum of $3300.00 is hereby appropriated from Street and
Traffic Fund to Street Department S -251 Repairs of Buildings and Structures.
SECTION III. The above funds are required for the proper operation and
functioning of the aforementioned departments under the budget for the year
1953, and an extraordinary emergency is hereby declared to exist requiring
said funds and appropriations.
SECTION IV. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage by the Common Council, its approval by the Mayor, and the fulfillment
of all statutory requirements relating to emergency appropriations.
