HUFF DIRECTOR OF PLANNING Honorable Common Council City of South Bend South Bend, Indiana Gentlemen: The attached petition of Colpaert Realty Corporation to rezone 20 acre parcel of land located in vicinity of Ford Street and LombarffDrive was legally adver- tised under date of July , 1955, and given public hearing on August k, 1955• This petition to rezone would, in effect remove commercial land next to the Pierre Navarre School, said land reverting to residential use, and increase desirability of commercially zoned land by the addi- tion of Tracts A and B. The Board found that the general welfare would be served by the granting of the petition, that a public school serves residential land uses and is far better located on a site which is surrounded by said resi- dential uses, as opposed to commercial or industrial uses. It was, therefore, moved, seconded, and carried that the petition be favorably recommended to the Council. Very truly yours, C=PLA, LY C011MISSION Robert L.
