That the following described real estate located in the City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, State of Indiana, shall be rezoned as "D" use district and "F" height and area district: Lots Numbered 40, 41 and 42 as shown on the recorded Revised Plat of Oakland Park, a sub- division of the City of South Bend, recorded in Plat Book 6, Page 89. Section 2. HENNESSY, Gentlemen: July S, 1955 -,K The petition of the Taube Printing Corporation to rezone Lots numbered 40, 41, and 42 of the Revised Plat of Oakland Park, which land is situated on the northeast corner of Northside Boulevard and Emerson Avenue, from "B" Residential Use District to I'D" Light- industrial Use District and 'IF" Height and Area District, was referred from the Council under date of June 13, 1955, legally advertised under date of June 27, 1955, and.-pliblic hearing by the Planning Commission under date of July 7, '55. The Commission found that because of peculiarities of the site and surrounding properties industrial use on said lots would in no way interfere with tr adversely influence surround- ing properties. The Commission also found that industrial use on subject properties would, in effect, act as a buffer between residential lots to the east and the light - industrial use to the west of subject lots. It was, therefore, moved, seconded, and carried that the petition be recommended favorably to the Common Council. CITY, CLERK RLH:aed Attachment Very truly yours, �Cl/T�Y N /INGG COMMISSION Robert L. Huff Director - Secretary P E T I T I O N May 25, 1955 To the Members of the Common Council South Bend, Indiana Gentlemen: f AY 2 1955 EVELYN M. HENNESSY. CITY. CLERK Taube Printing Corporation, a corporation duly organized and existing under and by virtue of the laws of the State of Indiana, with its principal place of business and general offices presently located at No. 320 East Colfax Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, the owner of the fee simple title to the following described real estate, respectfully petitions the Common Council to rezone the same from "B" residential to "D" use district light industrial and "F" height and area district: Lots Numbered 40, 41 and 42 as shown on the recorded Revised Plat of Oakland Park, a Subdivision of the City of South Bend, recorded in Plat Book 6, Page 89. The real estate above described is unimproved and was purchased by the said corporation for the purpose of constructing thereupon a substantially fire proof building consisting of cement blocks, cement floors and brick facing, with no basement. The building to be approximately 50 x 120 feet. The purpose of the construction of the above described building is to house the present printing business of the corporation. No objections thus far have been encountered on the part of the neighboring property owners and, in fact, all who have been approached have signified their willingness to go along with the project.
