ZONIA ?G OFDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH BEND, INDIANA
BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend,
Indiana: That,
SECTION 1. Ordinance Number 3702, being a zoning ordinance ofthe
City of South Bend, Indiana, be, and the same hereby is, amended so that
the zoning classification of the following real estate in the City of
South Bend, Indiana, to -wit:
The property facing ItLshawaka Avenue on the
north side of the street between 28th and
29th Streets, more specifically described .
as follows: all of Lots Numbers 191, 192,
193, 191, 195 and 196, all in Berner Grove
Addition to the City of South Bend, St.
Joseph County, Indiana
be, and the same is hereby, changed to and zoned as "C" Commercial use
district and nDrt height and area district.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage by the Common Council, approved by the Mayor of
the City of South Bend, Indiana, and leIgAl publication.

Gentlemen:
In the ;natter of the attached petition of Herman R. Larson,
et al, to zone lots numbered 191 through 196, inclusive,
of Berner Grove Addition from 111311 Residential Use District
and 111311 Height and Area District to NC11 Commercial Use
District and IID11 Height and Area District, said lots facing
Mishawaka Avenue on the north side of the street between
28th and 29th Streets, your Planning Commission found as
follows:
That subject property was generally surrounded by
commercial zoning districts and commercial land
use, and that the general trend in vicinity of
subject property was clearly towards increasing need
for commercial frontage.
The petition and ordinance is favorably recommended
after legal advertising and public hearing before the
Commission on October 6, 1955.
This communication of recommendation has been held pending the
submission of the necessary ordinance by the petitioners.
