An Ordinance Amending
Ordinance Ordinance 3702 Odimhbnly known as the Zoning
/of the City of South Bend, Indiana
Be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of South Bend
Indiana:
Section I Ordinance No. 3702 be and the same is
hereby amended to change the zoning classification
of the following real estate in the City of
South Bend, Indiana, to wit:
A lot or parcel of land described as follows, viz:
Beginning on the East line of Olive St., at a point
40 feet north of the Intersection of the East line of
Said Olive St., as now established (which street is
50 feet wide) and the South line of lot numbered 11
as shown on the recorded plat of Kunstman and Meyersts
addition to the City of South Bend; thence running
North on the East line of Olive St., 86.18 feet, more
or less, to the South Line of Longley Ave., in said
City; thence East along the South line of Longley Ave.,
a distance of 135 feet; thence South on a line parallel
with the East line of Alive Street, 85.26 feet; thence
West to.the place of beginning.
from "B" Residential and "B" Height and Area to "C"
Commercial and "C" Height and Arga.
Section 2 This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage by the Common Council, approval
by the Mayor and legal publication.

The petition of David and Patricia Rydzi I ki to
rezone a parcel of land on the south corner of
Olive and Longley Streets from A- residential and
C- height and area district was given public hearing
by your Planning Co.m fission on October 21, 1954•
The petition is not recommended for the following
reasons, as quoted from the last tiIinutes, "This
would constitute spot zoning, as the entire area is
predominantly single family residential use, and that
there is ample commercially zoned areas within a
block of the subject property ".
