Ali ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 COMMONLY KNOWN
AS THE ZONING ORDINACE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 3702 adopted by the Common Council
of the City of South Bend, Indiana, on the 13th day of June, 1949, and
commonly known as the Zoning Ordinance, be and the same is hereby amended as follows,
to -wit:
That the zoning of the following described real estate
situate in the City of South Bend, Indiana, and described as follows, to-,rit:
Lots 52, 53, 54 and 55 as shown on the recorded
Plat of Balser and McHenry's Addition,
be changed from "B" Residence and "A" Height and Area District to "D" Light
Industrial and "D" Height and Area District.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and legal publication.

P E T I T I O N
TO -., The Honorable Members of the
Common Council of the City
of South Bend, Indiana
The undersigned respectfully petition the Common Council of the City
of South Bend, as follows:
1. To re -zone the following described real estate located in the
City of South Bend, County of St. Joseph and State of Indiana, to -grit:
Lots 52, 53, 54 and 55 as shown on the recorded
Plat of Baker and McHenryts Addition to the City
of South Bend,
from Class "B" Residential District and Class "A" Height and Area District,
to Class "D" Light Industrial District and Class "F" Height and Area District
2. In support thereof, your petitioners submit the following:
A. That the lands adjacent to the above described premises
are now zoned for commercial and light industrial. use;
B. That the general character of the neighborhood in which
the lands above described are situated is no longer suited for
residential use; that commercial and light industrial use has
already begun in the area and that the parcel described and
the lands immediately adjacent thereto can best be used for
light industrial use as in this petition prayed for.
The power to re -zone being vested in the Common Council, this petition
