ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH BEND. INDIANA.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South
Bend, Indiana:
SECTION 1. Ordinance Number 3702, being a zoning ordinance
of the City of South Bend, be, and the same hereby is, amended
so that the zoning classification of the follocaing real estate
in the City of South Bend, Indiana, to -wit:
An unpTatted parcel of land described as follotrs:
Beginning at a point where the East right -of -way
line of Main Street interesects the North right -
of -way line of Sherwood Street, thence northerly
along the East right -of -way line of Main Street a
distance of Two Hundred Ninety- t.•. *o and 18 /100 (2 092.18)
feet, thence Easterly a distance of One Hundred Sixty -
four and 5/10 (164.5) feet to a point in the West
boundary line of the firtt North and South alley
East of Main Street, irhich point is Two Hundred
Seventy -three and 35/100 (273.35) feet North of the
North right -of -way line of Sherwood Street, this
last distance being measured along the ?west boundary
line of said alley, (said alley is no?a a private ease-
ment for the use of the property owners on the east
side of Main Street and the West side of Kichigan
Street between Dean Street and Sherwood Street).

said alley a distance of Ttro Hundred Seventy -three
and 35/100 (73.35) feet to a point in the Northerly
right -of -ray line of Sherwood Street a distance of One
Hundred Sixty -five (165) feet to the point of beginn-
ing; all in South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana.

Gentlemen:
The attached petition of Myron D. Walz, et al, to
rezone an unplatted parcel of land at Main and
Sherwood Streets from IIBII Use District and "All Height
and Area to IICII Commercial Use District and RDII Height
and Area was legally advertised under date of April 25,
1956, and public hearing held before the Planning
Commission under date of May 3, 1956.
After due consideration, the Commission found the
general area to be predominantly commercial — industrial,
and that substantial justice would be done by the
favorable recommendation of the petition.
It was therefore moved, seconded, and unanimously carried
that the petition be favorably recommended.

We, the owners of the real estate hereinafter
described, respectfully petition the Common Council of
the City of South Bend and the Planning Commission of
said city to rezone said real estate from "B" Use Dis-
trict and "A" Height and Area District to "C" Commercial
Use District and "D" Height and Area District:
An unplatted parcel of land described as
follows: Beginning at a point where the
East right -of -way line of Main Street
intersects the North right -of -way line of
Sherwood Street, thence northerly along the
East right -of -way line of Main Street a
distance of Two Hundred Eighty -five and 18/100
(285.18) feet, thence Easterly a distance of
One Hundred Seventy -eight and 5/10 (178.5)
feet, which point is Two Hundred Sixty -six and
35/100 (266.35) feet'North of the North right -
of -way line of'Sherwood Street, thence Souther-
ly along the East boundary line of what was
formerly the north and south alley, a distance
of Two Hundred Sixty -six and 35/100 (266.35)
feet to a point on the North right -of -way line
of Sherwood Street, thence Westerly along the
Northerly line of Sherwood Street a distance
of One Hundred Seventy -nine (179) feet to the
point of beginning; all in South Bend, St.
Joseph County, Indiana.
