AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $66,861.47 FROM THE GENERAL
FUND TO THE GENERAL IMPROVEMENT FUND AND APPROPRIATING
$20,600.50 FROM THE GENERAL FUND TO FIRE DEPARTMENT
Q -11 SERVICES PERSONAL; ALL OF THE BUDGET FOR 1955
OF THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the Civil City of South
Bend, Indiana:
SECTION I: The following sums of money are hereby appropriated:
from the General Fund $66,861.47 to the General Improvement Fund
$66,861.47; and from the General Fund $20,600.50 to Fire Department
Q -11 Services Personal $20,600.50, all of the budget for the year

Section 1 of the Ordinance be amended to include the following additional paragraph.
The appropriation for Fire Department is for the following use: To promote One
(1) Lieutenant to Captain for six months $169.50; to promote Two (2) Firemen to
Lieutenant for six months $331.00; Ten (10) Probationary Firemen for six months
$20,100.00, total $20,600.50.

SECTION III: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage by the Common Council, its approval by the
Mayor, and the fulfillment of all statutory requirements relating
to emergency appropriations.
