BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH , SECTION I. That the following described territory and land in St. Joseph County, State of Indiana, be and the same is hereby annexed to and declared to be a part of the said City of South Bend, Indiana: Beginning at a point in the North Right-of-Way Line of Walter Street where the present North and South city limits line crosses Walter Street, which point is 765.5 feet, more or less, West of the North and South Center Line of Section 25, Township 37 North, Range 2 East; thence West along the North line of Walter Street a distance of 1,000 feet, more or less, to the East line of Michigan Street; thence Northeasterly along the East Right-of-Way Line of Michigan Street, a .distance of 1,150 feet, more or less, to the present East and West city limit line; thence East along the present East -West city limit line a distance of 400 feet, more or less, to the East side of a 14 -foot alley; thence continuing South along the same line Fifty feet (501) across Barbie Street; thence continuing South along the same line along the East side of a 14 -foot easement a distance of One Hundred Fifty -five and Four Tenths feet (155.41), more or less; thence East along the North side of a 14 -foot easement a distance of One Hundred Nineteen feet (1191), more or less, to the Southwesterly corner of Replat of Zook's First Addition; thence East along the South boundary line of Replat of Zook's First Addition a distance of Three Hundred Ninety -three and Seven Tenths feet (393.7'), more or less; thence South to the North Right -of -Way Line of Walter Street to the place of beginning. This tract of land contains 20.1 acres, more or less, all being in the Northwest 1/4 Section 25, Township 37 North, R.snge 3 East, Portage Township, St. Joseph County, Indiana. October 22, 1956 Honorable Common Council City of South Bend South Bend, Indiana Gentlemen: The attached ordinance, originated by your City Planning Commission, was legally adver- tised under date of September 24, 1956, and given public hearing under date of October 4, 1956. The ordinance seeks to annex land to the City of South Bend, generally described as follows: South of the present city limits line, East of Michigan Street, and North of Walter Street, consisting of 15.35 acres constituting a part of Pierre Navarre Park, and 2.7 acres of privately owned property.
