HUFF City of South Bend DIRECTOR OF PLANNING South Bend, Indiana Gentlemen: The attached petition of Otto Baker, et al, to annex to the City of South Bend agpmately 25 acres now in Clay Township, being the South Ee outh 1/2 of Section 32, Township 38, Range 3 East, was legally advertised under date of August try, 1956. Said petition was given public hearing by the Commission on September 6, 1956, and the following action was taken: The Commission found that the Portage Realty Corporation, the major land holder, had desired annexation prior to residential development of subject property, and that since the filing of the petition, Portage Realty Corporation had acquired an additional tract of land consisting of approximately 5 acres located contiguous to the northwest boundary of subject annexation petition. The Commission further found that the Portage Realty Corporation desired that petition be amended to include said additional acreage. After due consideration, it was moved, seconded, and unanimously carried that the petition be amended to include the approximate 5 acres adjacent and so favorably recommend to the Council. Very truly yours, CITY — PLANNING COMMISSION Robert L. Huff ' Director - Secretary RIH -aed Attachment
