ORDINANCE N0. 4051
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE INSPECTOR
OF THE DEPARTMENT OF SUB - STANDARD BUILD-
INGS AND DWELLINGS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
BEND TO REMOVE OR DEMOLISH A CERTAIN
DWELLING KNOWN AS NO. 606 WESTERN AVENUE
IN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA
BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana:
SECTION I: WHEREAS on or about the 26th day of January 1955, the
Inspector of the Department of Sub - Standard Buildings and Dwellings
of the City of South Bend issued a determination that the dwelling known
as 606 Western Avenue, South Bend, Indiana and described as follows:
A part of Lot Numbered One (1) of the
Glass House Lot Survey as recorded in
Plat Book No. 1, page 64, in the City
of South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana
described as beginning at a point 652 ft.
West of the Northeast corner of said lot
Numbered 12 running thence East on the
North line of said Lot Numbered 25; thence
South 582 ft; thence West 25 ft; thence
North 582 ft, to the place of beginning
is unfit for human habitation and is dangerous and in said determination,
a copy of which was served upon the legal owners thereof, namely,
Morris Goldberg and Ida Goldberg, they were ordered to remove or demolish
said dwelling on or before the 26th day of March 1955 and
WHEREAS said dwelling has not been removed or demolished pursuant to said
determination.
Now, therefore, in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance No. 3989
of the City of South Bend said inspector is ordered to proceed to effectuate
the purposes of said ordinance with respect to said property by removal or
demolishment of said dwelling.
SECTION II: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption and approval by the Mayor.
