AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO AID BRINGING WITHIN THE
CITY LIMITS OF SOUTH BEM, INDIANA, CERTAIN LANDS
(NE Corner Ironwood Drive and Edison Road)
(II acres more or less)
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA;
Section I ;.
That the following described property in St. Joseph County, State
of Indiana, is hereby annexed to and brought within the City of
South Bend, Indiana;
Beginning at a point in the Southwest Quarter (a) of
the Southwest Quarter (i) Section Thirty -Two (32)
Township Thirty -Eight (38j North, Range Three (3) East,
at the intersection of the Center Line of Edison Road
(the present City Limits) and the Center Line of
Ironwood Drive, thence North along the Center Line of
Ironwood Drive (which is also the West Line of the
Southwest Quarter (-x) of the Southwest Quarter (4), Section
Thirty -Two (32) Township Thirty -Eight (38) North; Range
Three (3) East) to a point Six Hundred and Sixty (6601)
feet North of said Intersection, thence East parallel to
the Center Line of Edison Road which is also the South
Line of the Southwest Quarter (4) of the Southwest Quarter
U) of Section Thirty -Two (32), Township Thirty -Eight
(38) North, Range Three (3) East) a distance of Seven Hundred
and Twenty -Six (7261) feet, thence South parallel to the
Center Line of Ironwood Drive, a distance of Six Hundred
and Sixty (6601) feet to the Center Line of Edison Road,
thence West along the Center Line of Edison Road Seven
Hundred and Twenty -Six (7261) feet more or less to the
place of beginning, containing Eleven (II) Acres more or
less.
Section 2:
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
its enactment, approval by the Mayor and legal publication.

The attached petition of Robert Edwards, et a1, to annex
to the City of South Bend, Indiana the property generally
described as being a parcel of land. 660 feet north and
south by 726 feet east and west at the northeast corner
of Edison and. Ironwood Roads was legally advertised.
under date of June 26, 1961 and. given public hearing
under date of July 6, 1961. The following action was
taken:
The Commission was of the opinion that the six
determinants of annexation exists. It was
therefore duly moved, seconded, and unanimously
carried that the petition be recommended
favorably to the Common Council.
