PAYABLE FROM THE GENERAL FUND, FOR OFFICERS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND TO BE ELECTED FOR THE TERM COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 1960 AND FIXING THE TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL TAKE EFFECT, a-o MAP, 9 o '59 PM ,.,,,i .,2 WHEREAS, it is provided by Chapter 107, Section 6 of the Acts of 1959 of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana that the Common Council of each and every city on or before May 1st of the year 1959, in which elections for selection of city officers are held, shall fix the annual salaries of such elected officers as provided for in said Act, which salaries shall not be changed during their respective terms of office, and WHEREAS, said Section 6 of said Chapter 107 of the Acts of 1959 of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana further provides that such ordinance must be twice published in a newspaper of general circulation the first of which publi- cations must be not less than thirty days prior to the date of the final passage of this ordinance. WHEREAS, the General Assembly of the State of Indiana of 1959 passed enrolled house Act 135 with an Emergency Clause therein, and it is to be Chapter 107 of the published Acts, and the same is now in force and effect, now therefore: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,, INDIANA: Section 1. Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 107 of the Acts of 1959 of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana, the following annual salaries, payable from the General Fund, are hereby fixed for the following elective officers of the City of South Bend, Indiana, effective for the term commencing January 1, 1960, and continuing during their elective term of office. THAT SECTION I OF SAID ORDINANCE BE AMENDED IN THE FOLLOWING MANNER: MAYOR $13 .9200.00 CITY CLERK 83200.00 CITY JUDGE 7.500.00 COUNCILMAN ;,800.00 each That there be added an additional paragraph to said section, which shall read as follows: "THAT ALL OF SAID SALARIES BE PAID OUT OF THE SOUTH BEND CIVIL CITY TAX RATE. ft Mayor . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $12,000.00 pp�,, City Clerk . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 0 1000, pp City Judge . . . . . . . . . . . . 7,500.00 Members of the Common Council (eachj: . 1, 800. 00. Section 2. The Clerk is ordered and directed to publish this ordinance twice in a newspaper of general circulation in the English language, in this city, the first of which publications shall be at least 30 days prior to the date of the passage of this ordinance. Section 3.
