AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS I, II, III, IV, VI AND
VIII OF ORDINANCE NO. 4207 ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE INCREASE OF SEWAGE SERVICE
CHARGES TO ALL USERS OF CITY SEWER SERVICE OR CITY
WATER SERVICE, FOR THE PURPOSE OF REPAIR AND /.OR
REPLACEMENT OF WATER SERVICE LINES, SHUT -OFF
BOXES AND WATER METER MANHOLES,

BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana:
SECTION 1. That Section I of Ordinance No. 4207, which ordinance was
adopted on the 13th day of January, 1958, be and the same is hereby amended
to read as follows:
That the sum of twelve (. 121 cents per month be added to the sewage
service charge of all domestic water or sewer users.
SECTION 2. That Section II of Ordinance No. 4207, which ordinance was
adopted on the 13th day of January, 1958, be and the same is hereby amended
to read as follows:
That the sum of thirty -five (.35) cents per month be added to the sewage
service charge of all commercial water or sewer users.
SECTION 3. That Section III of Ordinance No. 4207, which ordinance was
adopted on the 13th day of Januarys 1958, be and the same is hereby amended
to read as follows:
That the sum of sixty (. 60) cents per month be added to the sewage
service charge of all industrial water or sewer users.
SECTION 4. That Section Iv of Ordinance No. 4207, which ordinance was
adopted on the 13th day of January, 1958, be and the same is hereby amended
to read as follows:
That all of said sums of money so collected be deposted in a separate
fund of the Sewage Treatment Plant and that said fund be used solely
for the repair and /or replacement of water service lines, shut -off
boxes, and meter manholes. Water shut -off ooxes shall receive re-
pair and /or replacement only if such shut -off boxes are leaking. This
ordinance shall apply only to water users within the City limits.
SECTION 5. That Section VI of Ordinance No. 4207, which ordinance was
adopted on the 13th day of January, 1958, be and the same is hereby amended
to read as follows:
For Commercial and Industrial accounts. This fund shall insure
maintenance, repair and /or replacement of water service lines

to read as follows:

SECTION 6. That Section VIII of Ordinance No. 4207, which ordinance was
adopted on the 13th day of January, 1958:, be and the same is hereby amended
to read as follows:
No claim for the repair of a water line under this ordinance will be
honored by the City unless a permit has been issued for such work by
the Superintendent of the Sewage Treatment Plant. All work performed
on said maintenance, repair and /or replacement of water lines shall
be in accordance with the provisions set forth in the Plumbing. Code
for the City of South Bend, Indiana; that further after said work is
completed, a certificate of final approval must be issued by the
Building Commission of the City of South Bend.
SECTION 7. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage by the Common Council, its approval by the Mayor and the fulfillment
of all statutory requirements relating thereto.
