AS AMENDED, WHICH ORDINANCE IS COMMONLY
KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA

BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana
Section I. Ordinance No. 3702, as amended, which ordinance is commonly
known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of South Bend, Indiana,
be and the same hereby is zmended in order that the zoning classifi-
cation of the following described real estate in the City of
South Bend, St. Joseph County, State of Indiana:
Part of the Northeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of
Section 8, T.3 7N. R3E described as beginning at a poiist
on the North line of the Northeast Quarter of the Southeast
Quarter, 236 feet West of the Northeast corner: thereof,
running thence Nest on the North line of said Northeast
Quarter of the Southeast Quarter, 134 feet; thence South,
parallel with the West line of Nineteenth Street, (how
Thirty Sixth (36th) Street), in the City of South Bend; a
distance of 262.5 feet, more or less; thence East 134 feet;-
North to the place of beginning, in St. Joseph County,
Indiana. Subject to the legal highways.

Commercial and "A" Height and Area District.
Section 11. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and efter
its passage by the Common Council, approval by the Mayor, and
legal publication.

Gentlemen:
The attached petition of Whitmore Corporation to rezone 134 feet
of frontage located on the south side of East Jefferson Blvd. and
immediately east of the Fernwood Addition, from "A" Residential
to "C -I "Commercial and "A" Height and Area District was legally
advertised on 25 November, 1957 and given public hearing under
date of 5 December 1957. The following action was taken:
After due consideration the Commission found that
property to the north and east was used and zoned
Commercially and that the adoption of the ordinance
would be a logical extension of Commercial zoning.
It was therefore duly moved, seconded and unanimously
carried that the petition be recommended favorably to
the Common Council.
