AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 3702
AS AMENDED,, WHICH ORDINANCE IS COMMONLY
KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND
BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City
of South Bend that Ordinance No, 3702 be amended as follows:
SECTION 1. That the following described land be zoned
from "B" Residential to "C" Commercial
Lot numbered Fipe (5) as shown on the
recorded plat of L. F. Baker's Subdivision
of Bank Out Lot numbered Eighty -seven (87)
of the second plat of Out Lots of the Town,
now City of South Bend platted by the State
Bank of Indiana; commonly known and des -
cribed as 1142 West Washington Avenue,
South Bend, Indiana.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage by the Common Council and its
approval by the Mayor of the City of South Bend and legal publication.

The attached petition of Frank Arch and Joseph J. Arch to rezone
property at 1142 West Washington Avenue from "B" Residential to "C"
Commercial Use and "C" Height and Area District was legally
advertised on 16 September 1957 and given public hearing under date
of 26 September 1957• The following action was taken:
After due consideration it was moved, seconded and unanimously
carried that the petition be recommended favorably to the
Common Council.

TO THE HONORABLE THE COMMON COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA
We, the undersigned owners of the real estate
hereinafter described located in South Bend, St. Joseph County,
Indiana, petition your honorable body to amend Ordinance No. 3702,
commonly known as the zoning ordinance to change the zoning
classification of the following described real estate, to -wit:
Lot numbered Five (5) as shown on the re-
corded plat of L. F. Baker's Subdivision of
Bank Out Lot numbered Eighty -seven (87) of
the second plat of Out Lots of the Town, now
City of South Bend platted by the State Bank
of Indiana; commonly known and described
as 1142 West Washington Avenue, South Bend,
Indiana,
from "B" residential to "C" Commercial,
