AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND CERTAIN TERRI-
TORY CONTIGUOUS THERETO

Be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of South Bend,
Indiana:
Section 1
That the following described territory contiguous to the incorpo-
rated City of South Bend, in St.loseph County, Indiana, to -wit:
A tract of land lying in the Northeast quarter (1/4) of
Section Thirty (30) Township Thirty -seven (37) North,
Range Three (31 East, more particularly described as
follows:
Beginning at the Southwest corner of the Northeast quarter
(1/4) of said Section Thirty (30), thence East along the
South line of the said Northeast quarter (1/4) a distance
of Five Hundred Twenty -seven and Forty -nine Hundredths
(527,49) feet, thence Northerly a distance of Six Hundred
Fifty -eight (658) feet, thence Westerly a distance of Five
Hundred Twenty -seven and Forty -three Hundredths (527.43)
feet to a point on the West line of said quarter section,
thence South along the West line of said quarter section a
distance of Six Hundred Fifty -eight and Thirty -three Hun-
dredths (658.33) feet to the place of beginning containing
Seven and Ninety -seven Hundredths (7.97) acres.
Subject to the legal highway,
be and the same is hereby annexed to said City of South Bend. All of
which said contiguous territory shall hereafter form a part of the said
City of South Bend and be within its jurisdiction, and said territory is
hereby consolidated with and made a part of the said City of South Bend.
Section 2
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
its enactment, approval by the Mayor, and legal publication.

Gentlemen:
May 11, 1959
The attached petition of Hilton Construction Company to annex to
the City of South Bend a parcel of land containing 7.97 acres, more
or less, lying on the north side of Ireland Road and approximately
2,640 feet east of Miami Road, bounded on the west and north by
the present city limits was legally advertised on April 27, 1959
and given public hearing on May 7, 1959. The following action was
taken:
After due consideration the Commission found that in
their opinion the proposed annexation meets the criteria
of the annexation statute of 1955 and is needed for the
proper and logical development of the entire Broadmoor
Addition. It was therefore duly moved, seconded and
unanimously carried that the petition be recommended favor-
ably to the Common Council.

The petitioner, Hilton Construction Co. , Inc. , respectfully
petitions that the following described real estate situate in St. Joseph County,
Indiana, to -wit:
A tract of land lying in the Northeast quarter (1/4) of
Section Thirty (30) Township Thirty -seven (37) North,
Range Three (3) East, more particularly described as
follows:

Indiana.
Petitioner further states that said real estate is contiguous and
adjacent to said City of South Bend; and that petitioner is the owner of all of
said real estate.
Petitioner further states that it has attached hereto a form of
ordinance for the convenience, use and approval of the Common Council of the
City of South Bend, Indiana.
WHEREFORE, petitioner respectfully requests that the Common
Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, accept and act favorably upon its
said petition, and that the above described real estate be annexed to and declared
to be a part of the incorporated City of South Bend, Indiana.
