AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF SOUTH
BENDeINDIANA. TO MAKE AMOAIFICATION
AGREEMENT TO LEASE CERTAIN REAL. ESTATE
PROPERTY TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend,
Indiana, that;
1. The City of South Bend, Indiana, by and through the proper officers
and officials be and it hereby is authorized to make a modification agreement of
existing lease between the United States of America and the City of South Bend
wherein the property is used as a Naval Reserve Armory. The description of the
real estate now owned is as-fonows:
Beginning at a point 195. 5 feet West and 187. 7 feet North
of the Southeasterly Corner of Lot 20 in August Beyerls
First Addition to the City of South Bend, St. Joseph County,
Indiana, thence North and Northwesterly along the Westerly
right of wayline of North Side Boulevard to the point of
intersection of the said Westerly line and the North and
South center line of Notre Dame Avenue extended; thence due
South to the St. Joseph River, thence Southerly and Easterly
along the meandering line of the St. Joseph River tea
point due West of the point of beginning, thence due East to
North Side Boulevard, and the point of beginning, all in the
East half of the Southeast Quarter of Section 12, Township 37
North, Range 2 East, South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana,
containing approximately 6. 8 acres, more or less.
2. Upon compliance with the provisions of Chapter 131 of the Acts of the
Indiana General Assembly for 1947 the lease hereby authorized shall be valid
without further approval by the Common Council.
3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage by the Common Council and its approval by the Mayor.
